Discovering Korea’s Leading Small and Medium Enterprises in Construction and Environment

The 15th 2020 Korea Construction Environment Technology Awards Ceremony was held on the 17th at the Construction Hall in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul. [Reporter Kim Joon-hyun, Land Daily] The ’15th 2020 Korea Construction Environment Technology Awards’ ceremony was successfully held on the 17th at the Construction Hall in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

The Korea Construction Environment Technology Awards aims to highlight the importance of the construction and environment industries, which have played a pivotal role in the development of the national economy, and to encourage outstanding companies and institutions that are leading modernization through innovation.

The event was hosted by Land Daily and supported by the Presidential Committee on Architecture Policy, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Environment, the National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee, the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement, and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute.

Marking its 15th anniversary this year, the ’15th 2020 Korea Construction Environment Technology Awards’ ceremony was held with a minimal number of participants, including supporting agencies and CEOs of award-winning companies, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Grand Prize was awarded to Kodeok Construction Co., Ltd. (Chairman Ki-seon Na), the Construction Prize to TJ Construction Co., Ltd. (Chairman Han-ho Woo), and the Environment Prize to GeoGreen21 Co., Ltd. (CEO Myung-jae Lee).

Additionally, one company received the Presidential Committee on Architecture Policy Chairman’s Commendation, five companies received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award, three companies received the Minister of Environment Award, six companies received the National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee Chairman’s Commendation, three companies received the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement Award, and three companies received the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute Award.

This year, in particular, ten companies were selected in various categories such as CM, architectural design, and construction coating, and were awarded the ‘Best One.’

Jeon Jae-yeol, Chairman of the Korea Construction Environment Technology Awards Judging Committee, said, “We would like to express our encouragement and gratitude for the continuous technological development and managerial efforts in the related industries, as always.”

In his congratulatory speech, Jang Soon-jae, Director of Technology Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, “As smart construction technology for productivity and safety innovation is spreading in the construction process, various eco-friendly innovative construction methods that minimize environmental damage are continuously developing. Technology is the driving force behind change and innovation, and the companies here are the main players.”
